We tested the 200mW cb3 in a indoor environment passing thought 2 sheetrock walls. At 50 feet we had 100% signal quality connected to a 32mw lucent ap-500 with wep enabled.. As far as throughput we were able to stream high quality DIVX video to a set top box without any frame drops for over 2 hours.
The unit is tiny about the size of a small paperback book. It has a RP-TNC-MALE connector on the back with a detachable swivel antenna. There is a Ethernet jack and a power jack on the back. If you open the unit it contains a 2511-cd-plus ext 2 with pigtail. It comes with a power cube and will also work with a Ethernet power injector. It has slotted mounting holes on the bottom for wall mount and can be oriented in any direction. It also has a external reset switch.
It is managed via a web based interface. You can connect multiple devices to the Ethernet adapter via a hub or switch. You can configure the bridge to connect to with access point or point to point in ad-hoc mode with or without wep. Since your Ethernet device needs no driver you can connect anything with a Ethernet port to the CB3. You can connect another access point to the CB3 to wirelessly extend your network. Unlike other access points in bridge mode you can connect to any brand wireless device (linksys, netgear, dlink etc will only connect to like brand for bridge mode)
In closing this is the longest range wireless ethernet bridge on the market with 200mW and the correct antenna power you can connect devices several miles away.
